Adventures in CT
My fiancee went out of town last week giving me a little time to explore my new state on my own. . I set out on an adventure to some place I haven't been yet. :) After some research I decided to take the Nikon to the small town of Chester, CT. I had some fun taking pictures in Chester. Also had an awesome lunch at a little place called Simon's Market. :)

knitting, quilting and baking? :)
I have lived in Connecticut for a little over a month. I live in a small town that has 4 yarn stores. Have I moved to heaven? Its quite possible. I am currently working on a baby dress I started probably over a year ago. I am very close to being finished! (on a mission) I have lacked some focus lately. :) alas. I have also been distracted by taking up the hobby of quilting. I have finished the front part of my quilt and still trying to figure out the back of the quilt. :)
First project... a baby dress. (no.... I am not pregnant.) Just seems like when you are a 30 something someone is often getting pregnant and its good to have a finished gift lying around right? :) This pattern can be found free on Ravelry. Are we Ravelry friends? ;) I love this pattern. This is the second time I am making this baby dress. The pattern is simple and VERY easy to follow. Also the yarn I am using came from Hobby Lobby and its the Baby Bee Sweet Delight Baby - Sweet Mocha.
This project is my first quilt. I am so excited about this one. Its an 80 something-ish square quilt and measures out to be 54" x 46". The top of the quilt is finished. Next step is to piece together the backing fabric. I am still not sure if I am going to make the back fabric a single color or use some of the inner border in the back fabric. A big THANK YOU to my future mother in law for pointing me in the right direction to at least get this far in the quilt. There is a pretty epic quilting store not far from my house where is where I got this adorable fabric. :)

And finally in this blog of randomness....
My fiancee needed a cake baked. I saw an excuse to finally use the Hello Kitty cake mold that has been in the drawer for a while. :) I am not a huge fan of boxed cake mixes because I am convinced homemade cakes taste better and also I like to know what I am eating. :) However in the pinch, I went to the fun-fetti cake mix and made a Hello Kitty cake. She turned put pretty well I do believe.
Thats all for now! I'll keep yall posted on the goings on of my crafty stuff and my life. :)
